Our story

A rented strip of ground, and a green door.

Ada and Jules share the field past the last house on Cinderpath. They grow the flowers, cut them, and sell them from a shed that used to hold tools.

The first year was mostly mud and a row of dahlias that should not have made it. The soil holds water. The light stays late. That turned out to be enough. Neighbors started stopping when they saw buckets by the road, so the table became a stand, and the stand got a door that actually closes.

Lanternmead is still two people and one field. There is no shop in town and no van with a logo. If you want flowers on a Wednesday, the answer is usually Saturday.

A sloping field of pink and white cosmos under a blue sky, with a line of trees in the distance.

A week on the farm

  1. Mon Weed, stake, and see what the wind did to the cosmos.
  2. Wed Walk the rows and decide the three bouquets.
  3. Fri Cut at dawn. Cold water. Write the board.
  4. Sat Open the green door at nine. Close it at one, or when the buckets are empty.

What we leave alone

  • We do not ship. The flowers are for people who can come to the stand.
  • We are not taking weddings this year. The field is sized for Saturday bunches.
  • We will swap a stem if the one you hoped for is finished. We will say so.
